We started the day with buffet breakfast. Was very good actually for the amount that we paid and they even have egg corner!
At 9 am we took snorkeling trip to 4 islands by longtail boat. We paid B550 for the trip included packed lunch (tuna baguette, banana, orange and one big bottle of water) and snorkeling set and life jacket. Without the life jacket and snorkeling set you get B100 discount. Each boat occupied by maximum 4 persons and we shared ours with another Swedish couple.
The first destination was to Koh Hingam. It rained and the sea was choppy. Current was strong and we cannot do anything. Jumped to the water but instead of seeing anything we had to struggle to keep ourself near to the boat. The boatman threw rope so we can hang on it but again, you just cannot see anything as the sea was very bad. He told us to get up as it was too dangerous.
From there, we went to Koh Jabang. The current was still strong but the view was good. Corals were ok and we saw few fish as well. Not many varieties but it was much better than the first stop.
Third stop was Koh Rawi/Tarutao National Park. There, we had to pay B200 each - compulsory - as the boatman stopped there for 2 hours to "give" us chance to do nothing - as actually we just cannot do anything. Nothing to see - nothing to do. There is no facility there as well and the Swedish got a bit irritated that we just had to stay there for 2 hours. We just lazed around and burnt ourselves in the end. Luckily there were 3 puppies to play with!
At one pm and after lunch, we went to Koh Adang. This was the best site - my opinion - although there were plenty of sea urchins hence fins are recommended! Same just like the waters in Koh Lipe. Corals were much better and alive although nothing to brag about and cute fish can be found as near as 1 meter from the beach. They just swam circling around you.
So, if you really want to maximize your experience, actually you can just take taxi boat of B200 return to Koh Adang and rent your snorkeling set, fin and life jacket for B50 each item.
Back at 430 pm, we headed for aloe vera massage at the so-called most famous massage center - Som Chai. It costed us B400 for an hour.
After that we had a short walk through the alley to Sunrise Beach (we were at Pattaya Beach) and got ourselves the famous pancake from Lady Pancake Shop (from B20 to B60 each depends on the filling). Pat got banana pineapple vanilla for B35 and I had banana cashewnut chocolate for the same price.
The alley was packed with not-so-cheap so-so-almost-sad accommodations - bamboo huts. Some even offered tents at their backyard or on their rooftop balcony. We agreed that we were just glad that we stayed where we were now and we were too old for that kind of adventure.
Back for dinner we got BBQ again (fish and prawn only), shrimp cake (pic below) and papaya salad (somtam) that costed B490 for all. Again, we ended the day with sitting at our verandah watching the real-live drama in front of our bungalow.
