Traffic jam

Silje arrived yesterday with Zam. Set them up in new aircond room.

This morning a terrible mishap starting with the broke down stove. The single burner stove in the communal kitchen was broke down and as so many people use it everyday and by then, was breakfast time, I rushed to go to the shop to get new one.

Well, today is Le Tour de Langkawi and the finish line is in Cenang/Underwater World. Knew it will be closed so on the way home, took a detour trough Kedawang. Bad idea. They closed the road while we were in it. Well, about an hour waiting. The police only let us go around 11am. While I couldn't be bothered, I believe it must be quite an experience for the local folks. There is nothing you can do, the cars lined up about 2 - 3 kms and there is no way you made a round way back as only lead you to Kuah - which I suppose will be even worse - and yet, these people started to horn.
It's Friday so no shops open. Was thirsty and hungry though lucky had a packet of cigarette in my bag. A business-savvy farmer opened up a canvas on the roadside and sold his watermelons there. Well, as nobody knew what to do they just walked there and I saw many brought back 2 - 3 watermelons to their cars.

Tonight Tristan/Danielle - Canada, Benny/Wies - Holland will make BBQ with Joe. Another Canadian couple that we can't take but will come to stay with us from 6 onwards are probably coming as well.
