Squeeze!

The house is packed. Many new people. We squeezed in everybody in every room. Not good I supposed but nobody complain so far.

Kate is back. So lovely, she squeezed us in her tight schedule from Ko Pangan - Penang - Ko Pangan. Brought together 4 boys!
Emma and her friend squeezed themselves in with Martin. Good for him!
Mike, Christian and Edward extend their stays as well.

Of course, we still have Karim, Edie and Neil. Gillian left to Penang today. Martin left to Thailand. So we have Tommy and Andrew today.

Again can't believe it is supposed to be low season.

No low season here - apparently

Supposed to be our low season but the rooms are full as ever. We had lecturer of INTI came with his family (10 of them) while only booked 2 rooms. They managed to "rough out" things as we do not have any other rooms and they declined our offer to relocate them to other place. Most places in Langkawi suffer the low season and slashes down the prices till 50% except us.

We have Russians here - 6 of them (5 were in the pic). Lots of fun - too much probably. They have to move to other place tom as they only can leave to Koh Lipe Monday but our place is full.

New people today. Two girls from England - Collete and Lee Anne, a lady from England - Gillian, a couple - Malaysian - Bee Hwa. Dave from England, Neil from England and Eddie from Austria plus Karim from Australia still here. Few bunches new arrivals tom as well as Russians leave. Really need to get the pictures of everybody but we are always too drunk now in the evening - embarrassedly we have to admit. Zack is in the mood to go to Sunba - the retro bar - as the band plays the music he likes!

Low season

Nothing much happen. We have most of them - young boys with exception of Ayumi from Japan - in the house. Here was the picture of the Germans - Jans and his friend - both are studying in UiTM Shah Alam for their practical with Chris. Was taken on 14th - his last day in Langkawi.

On 16th we went to Kangar. Took a boat to Kuala Perlis to do some errands. Met Gary to return his sunglasses that he left the last time he came here. He was the American that donated many books from his home in US and just got married to Christina Das - chief of ENT surgery dept of Kangar Hospital. They will back to India to meet her family.

Last night, finally, Zack went to Sunba and he really enjoyed it. The band - Mix n Match - plays Carpenter, Shelley Basey and in short, all the music come from his era. DJ - he was so smart as well knowing that Zack will definitely come back if he plays right music - played all the 60's for Zack. Of course, he was right, Zack will definitely go there again. I hope the whole patrons in Sunba will forgive me! Lol.

Eddie from Austria came back after few days in East Coast. We have Karim as well from Australia since 11th. Adrian - teacher from Australia living in Taiwan - since 17th. The brothers from French - Romain and bro. And of course Eddie. Choong will arrive this afternoon and tomorrow Russians will come with few more people from Malaysia and India. And it supposes to be our low season!

Pictures from Kuala Perlis Jetty and Kangar. The mangoes are the specialities of this area and they were big and sweet sold at RM2/kg!

Dinner

Zack cooked for the first time this year to serve the guests. He chose to cook Malay traditional rice, nasi lemak or coconut rice with dishes of squids, cockles, anchovies and long beans plus slices of cucumber and tomatoes.

Sorry, my mistake, forgot to take pictures.

By the leftover, we wish that all enjoyed their dinners. Aparna Shekar and partner, Nimesh Shah from India, Chris from Switzerland (yeah, he is still here), Jan Schulte and friend from Germany, Nicole from Germany and Charlie from England. Paul from Finland and Abdulah and Graham from Australia - didn't have a chance to try as they came too late...

Water fest Langkawi

From 6 - 8 had water festival here in Cenang. Supposed to go and check out everything. Make pictures. Well, we talk about me here. Hot, crowded... not really my cup of tea.

However last night managed to get pictures of the fireworks of the closing ceremony. From the house.

New Bay

We had lunch most of the time here. Took Zam and Silje once and now took Nic and Charlie as well. Told you before that the owner is carpenter and showed here some of the tables that he made. The others are the pics of the views of the sea from the restaurant - New Bay or Teluk Baru. The new moorings under construction and the boats used for squid-catching activities. You see the lamps attached to the boats, they will attract the squids and the fishermen will just scoop them with shovel - as easy as that.
Take a look at the hornet's nest on top of Zack's head!

Kiko is going to be a father

Actually we sent Kiko to our friend on the beach and Zack found him a girlfriend for him. Apparently he is going to be a father. Here are some picture of him and his gf.

The lump of her backside, yes, it is how the monkey gets pregnant.

Yahook

On Thursday got the news that one of the icon of Langkawi, Yahook, found dead at his house. As he lived alone, some friends looked for him after he failed to show up at several appointments. Don't think it is appropriate to describe the horrid details however it was a loss for the "drinking community" here. His attitudes and antics will always be remembered.

For all that do not know him, probably recognize his motorbike and helmet with the horn on them. The different socks (left and right) he wore. And of course, his remarkable paintings that some of them were showcased at several hotels in Langkawi, including Casa Del Mar and Aseania.

For the "Happy Holiday" now has the most happy holiday ever.

Going back

Been a while since the last blog. The reason is, must admit, that since Zack was on holiday, the life was pretty much the same. Sleep, eat, drink - not necessarily in that order though. And the guests were still the same. Bjorn, Ann-elin and Silje + Tovel from Norway, Jonas, Marie, Maja, Melker from Sweden, Johanes, Marie, Jasmine and Neil from Sweden, Helen from Sweden, Frank from Australia, and Chris from Switzerland.

So Zack was back anyway on 3rd. Everything is going back to normal life.

Bjorn and family left to KL this morning.

Another note that the French couple just sent us email that they didn't really like their "east" journey and canceled their leg of the journey in Malaysia, instead they are going to spend it in Vietnam and Cambodia.
