Timber house

The timber house is finally ready as what Zack wanted. The bathroom is ready with the warm shower and room is ready with its cupboard and airconditioner.

Joshua from Shell Malaysia was the first one that stay and Richard followed after that. Ruth is going to stay there with her beau, Alex on the 6th. The list goes on.

With the guests

Hoyers

Still sunny days. Rain usually only after midnight for a while. Still the same batch of guests as well. Nick will check out today. We have Fernandez and his wife since two days ago, Bartosz from Poland. Today Susan and Stue from England are coming, Zhao from China and Dhermisa from England as well.

Nothing much happen here. Funny story : Janja had checked few website (apparently they have never updated them) and had found that there is bakery here in Tengah area called Hoya (Hoyers). And as she likes fresh bread and pancake, she naturally asked about it. Huh? This was belong to Zack and he closed it down in 1997! 10 years ago, and a stranger asked about it exactly to us. Geez!

And mating season starts, Kacang and Bandit bring home each a girl puppy. Two mornings in a row. They still do not want to stay and do not want us to touch them. But let see the next few days.

Sunny days at last

Sunny for two days after few days of thunder storm.

New batch of guests on 20th after a week of boys - except for Liesbeth and her partner. We have Nick and his partner from UK, Janja and her partner from Slovenia, Chai Lang and her friend from Singapore, Paul from UK, Joe from UK, Nina from Wales and Ruth from Canada.

Bhaskar & co

Top one is the picture of Bhaskar and friends. They work in UBS, Singapore and they stayed with us from August 9 to 12. Rough journey to come to Langkawi as they had problem with the bus they took but according to Bhaskar's email, they had a good journey back to Singapore after that.

Cooking night

The rooms are busy but we managed to repaint all rooms and put new tiles. The new rooms are getting ready as well with only one room left to be tiled. Rain - heavily - for the last couple of days. Picture : from left : Karim from UK, Liesbeth from Netherland (behind the chair) with her spouse, Mark, and Maria Ines from Portugal who left this morning to Bangkok. We still have Alistair, Nick and Alex. Coming today are Scott and his friend, Prapasit and his friend. Boys night!

Charlie, Tom and Neo left yesterday to KL as they cannot get cheap ticket back on 20th. Charlie was sick in the afternoon but seemed much better after a quick visit to Dr. Govin. This was the picture of the last night when Zack served prawn and chicken - sweet and sour ala Zack - with toasts and potato salad. Ted and Kim were enjoying the dinner as well. And they left yesterday as well to Krabi.

The other picture was the night before when Tom cooked steak and mashed potato for Zack.

Farewell Cumi

Cumi had complication this morning. Very sad and I had no choice to ask vet to put her to sleep. Her heart was very strong and it was difficult for me to see it.
Zack found out about her condition around 630 am after Kacang woke us up. We tried to call the vet from Bonton after 7 am but he refused to pick up the phone. Only around 730 am, the vet from Kuah finally picked up the phone and he agreed to come to put her to sleep. Bless him!

He arrived an hour later due to the distance and it took such a long time to put her to sleep as she had such a very strong heart and strong will to be alive. There were so many "if" in my head but think about it, I know it is better just to let her go.

For a short memory and the joy that you have given me, thank you, Cumi.
